Training Programs

It’s officially November, and autumn is in full swing. With a change in seasons comes new design trends. Over the last year and a half, it comes as no surprise that people have been spending more time at home; interior designers and homeowners alike are emerging into new trends that make a house a home. As 2021 comes to an end, some trends will be here to stay moving into the new year. Check out five design trends we are seeing this fall.

Natural Elements and Textures

No matter your design style, embracing natural elements like wood, wicker, and burlap adds an organic twist to your space. In a kitchen with a more contemporary aesthetic, Capital Lighting’s Jacob 1-light pendant adds a rustic touch, with hand-woven jute rope to add texture. Other artisanal fixtures we love are the Chesapeake 4-light chandelier by Currey & Company and the Cross 1-light pendant by Uttermost. Both of these fixtures offer an open, airy feel that brings a more nautical look to a living or dining area.

Earthy Hues

Earth tones go hand-in-hand with natural elements in a sense that they bring out the organic elements of design. Warmer tones are becoming increasingly more popular in the home, from paint colors to fixture finishes and beyond. PDI carries faucets and fixtures from KOHLER and other top manufacturers, with faucets and fixtures in a variety of finishes. According to Delta Faucet Company, cooler finishes pair well with earth tones. For the bathroom, Native Trails’ Avalon 62¿ tub is a standout piece, handcrafted through a combination of natural jute fiber and cement. This freestanding tub is the perfect centerpiece for an earthy, organic modern bathroom.

Matte Black and Gold

A color combination we have been seeing more of recently, matte black and gold is a bold color combination that appeals to multiple design styles. PDI displays options for plumbing and lighting in their showrooms that cater to this trend, with talented consultants prepared to offer design services. KOHLER’s Tone faucet stands out against a sage green and light wood color palette while lighting options from top lighting manufacturers like George Kovacs and Capital Lighting are also available through PDI. Pictured below are the Alluria 10-light chandelier and the Bianca 6-light chandelier, two stunning fixtures that feature this stylish color combination.

Elevated Eco-Friendly

Sustainable is becoming more desirable in design, and environmental friendliness does not have to result in sacrificing style. KOHLER’s Whitehaven sink is made of 90% recycled materials while streamlining your laundry routine. Water conservation is another important feature, leading to the increasing popularity of SmartTouch technology, offered by Delta Faucet Company, KOHLER, and Brizo. Pictured below is the Artesso SmartTouch pull-down prep faucet by Brizo.

Statement Fixtures

Statement pieces are always a popular design trend and are a wonderful way to showcase your personality and style. Pieces that are a centerpiece in your home often make designing the rest of your space easier, finding pieces that complement your desired statement fixture. Options for statement products are endless, whether that may be a faucet, sink, lighting fixture, freestanding tub, or beyond. With the kitchen being a popular gathering place for family and guests, we have provided a few ideas for statement pieces to inspire your design imagination. Native Trails’ Polished Copper Farmhouse sink, pictured below, is a stunning sink that makes daily chores like washing dishes fun, while the Endeavor Wheel pull-down faucet by Waterstone is a conversation starter in the kitchen. Two lighting options pictured are Hinkley’s Cartwright 1-light pendant and Euclid foyer pendant, both of which are easy, eye-catching switches.
